No fewer than 3 persons were Friday injured following a shooting incidence at a North Carolina mall in Gastonia, Fox News quoted police as saying.
An active shooting is believed to have fired some shots at the food court of the Eastridge Mall in Gastonia outside of Charlotte, investigators were quoted to have told WSDC.
The three persons injured are currently receiving treatment
at a local hospital and are said to have non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
A spokesperson for the Gastonia Police Department was quoted
to have told WSDC that at least a suspect was seen escaping from the crime
scene at the mall into nearby woods.
"No active threat at this time," the department
later posted on Twitter.
It is not clear what caused the shooting but gun laws in the
United States are notoriously lax making it people for people in most states
to own deadly weapons such as those possessed by the active shooter at the
Uvalde School in Texas.
