Former U.S President Donald Trump has rebuked his daughter and former White House adviser saying she was ‘checked out’ in the days following the 2020 elections and hence could not ‘study’ the election results like he did.

The outburst came following investigations of the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot which led to the desecration of the seat of democracy. The House select committee investigating the reports had received part of the testimony of Ivanka Trump Thursday night.

A short video which was shown during the hearing showed Ivanka which responding to a question on former Attorney General William Barr’s assessment that the 2020 presidential election wasn’t stolen.

Mr Trump has repeatedly claimed that he was ‘rigged’ out of the contest and that the election was marred by widespread voter fraud, an allegation he has so far failed to substantiate. State and federal elections officials have said that there was no substantial evidence of widespread voter fraud being insinuated by the former president.

According to Ivanka Trump,“It affected my perspective,” as she responded to a question in the video, if Barr’s comments impacted her view of the election results.

“I respect Attorney General Barr, so I accepted what he was said.”

“Ivanka Trump was not involved in looking at, or studying, Election results. She had long since checked out and was, in my opinion, only trying to be respectful to Bill Barr and his position as Attorney General (he sucked!),” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform on Friday.

The House select committee is seeking to prove that Trump’s refusal to accept the results of the 2020 elections and his unguarded utterances was responsible for the January 6, 2021 violent siege at the Capitol.
