Award winning actor Anne Heche will be laid to rest at a historic Hollywood cemetery in Los Angeles, her family said Tuesday.
Heche was
cremated and her ashes will be placed in a mausoleum at Hollywood Forever
Cemetery at a later date, The Associated Press reports.
Heche’s son
Homer Laffoon and her other son Atlas Tupper told the Associated Press that
they “are convinced our Mom would love the site we have chosen for her; it’s
beautiful, serene and she will be among her Hollywood peers.”
The cemetery
is a cultural hub for film screenings, musical performances and festivals.
“Hollywood
Forever is a living place,” Laffoon’s statement said, according to The
Associated Press.
“She was our
Mom, but the kindness and the outpouring of the past few days reminded us that
she also belongs to her fans, to the entertainment community, and now, to the
ages,” the statement said.

The cemetery
was founded in 1899 and is located near the Paramount Pictures lot, according
to The Associated Press. It is home to the graves and tombs of actors including
Judy Garland and Douglas Fairbanks, and of musicians including Chris Cornell
and Johnny Ramone, according to The Associated Press.
Heche would
be laid to rest in the cemetery’s Garden of Legends.
What killed Anne Heche?
53-year-old
Heche crashed her car into a home in Mar Vista, California, on August 5, a fire
erupted with the car still embedded inside the home.
Surveillance
footage purportedly showed her car traveling at a high rate of speed through a
residential area before the fiery crash.
Heche is
from Ohio and has featured in a number of films including Johnny Depp in
“Donnie Brasco” and Harrison Ford in “Six Days, Seven Nights”. From 1987 to
1991, Heche featured on the NBC soap opera “Another World” and won a Daytime
Emmy Award during the early 1990s.
