Mother and daughter found dead in home in Buford, Georgia

 

In a statement Hall County Sheriff’s Office said it was conducting a welfare and possible missing persons check at the home of Kim Nguyen, 42, and Lam-Anh Trun, 18.  Deputies approached the home to execute a search warrant but were confronted by the man who “made aggressive movements” in their direction with a knife. Officers then shot him dead.

A mother and daughter were found dead in their home in Buford, Georgia in what appears to be a double murder. 

When police arrived the scene, the suspect confronted them with a knife and was immediately shot dead by officers, Newsweek reports.

The incident happened before 11 p.m. on Tuesday in Long Creek Drive, according to Newsweek.

In a statement Hall County Sheriff’s Office said it was conducting a welfare and possible missing persons check at the home of Kim Nguyen, 42, and Lam-Anh Trun, 18, Newsweek reported.

Deputies approached the home to execute a search warrant but were confronted by the man who “made aggressive movements” in their direction with a knife. Officers then shot him dead.

When police entered the property, they found the bodies of the mother and daughter.

Authorities are investigating how the two women died.

Buford is a town inhabited by 17,144 people, split between 4,727 households to the northeast of Atlanta, Newsweek cited the 2020 census data.
