Paul Pelosi pleads not guilty to driving under the influence (DUI) charges

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Husband Paul Pelosi has pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence at a court hearing on the matter. 

Last month Paul Pelosi was arrested in California and was arraigned at a Napa County court Wednesday, Washington Examiner reports.

Amanda Bevins who is Paul Pelosi’s attorney appeared on his behalf in court and entered a not guilty plea to one count of driving under the influence causing injury and one count of driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08% or higher causing injury, Washington Examiner cited a Fox News report.

Where did Paul Pelosi crash his Porsche?

The 82-year-old Paul Pelosi reportedly crashed his Porsche into a jeep near a town in Yountville, California, on May 28, failing his sobriety test and appearing noticeably unsteady when taken into custody, Washington Examiner quoted authorities. His blood alcohol content level was 0.082%, according to authorities.

“His eyes [appear] red/watery, he was unsteady on his feet, his speech was slurred, and he had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath,” according to the criminal complaint obtained by the New York Post.

The driver of the other vehicle complained five days later that he was experiencing "pain to his upper right arm, right shoulder, and neck."

Paul Pelosi is expected back in court on August 23, 2022.
