The Biden administration is silently busing and flying illegal migrants from Border States to sanctuary cities where it said it has the capacity to handle the increasing influx while demonizing Republican leaders in Texas and Arizona for doing the same thing. In terms of volume of migrants transported, the Biden administration is leading both Arizona and Texas.
In a single
week in late September, Homeland Security ran 79 “decompression buses” and made
29 “decompression flights” to move illegal immigrants away from border
locations in Arizona and Texas to cities of interest to the administration, The
Washington Times reported.
Department
of Homeland Security Secretary (DHS) Alejandro Mayorkas released the figures this
week while outlining his plans to deal with Venezuelan migrants.
The DHS has
had to source for extra manpower to handle the border crisis from other
sections due to increased movement of migrants, thanks to President Joe Biden’s
open border policy. The influx of migrants is endless as more migrants are
starting to appreciate less enforcement at the border, a source of attraction
to more migrants, a problem the DHS has admitted.
However
while, the Biden administration is also conducting its migrant busing and
migrant scheme, it has been openly attacking Republican governors such as Ron
DeSantis of Florida who recently flew a small group of illegal migrants to
Democrats’ Martha’s Vineyard as well as Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey and Texas Gov.
Greg Abbott whose states have transported illegal migrants to Washington, New
York and other Democratic run sanctuary cities.
“Correct me if I’m wrong here but this seems
to be a case of ‘Do as I say, not as I do,’” said C.J. Karamargin, spokesman
for Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, one of the Republicans who’d been transporting
migrants out of his state, according to The Washington Times. .
The Government
Accountability Office reported this week that most of the migrants would have
ended up in big cities such as Washington, New York and Illinois and hence
without the busing scheme by the Republican controlled states, the illegal
migrants would still end up in those sanctuary cities.
While White
House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre denounced the Abbott and Ducey bussing
scheme as “cruel political stunt,” Mr Maryorkas described Abbott’s busing
scheme as “political stuntsmanship” and said he was toying with “the lives of
vulnerable individuals”. Maryorkas was
speaking in an interview with MSNBC, according to The Washington Times.
Chris Magnus
who is the head of Customs and Border Protection said the busing campaign by
the Biden administration was fueling the border chaos by “luring” more migrants
to jump the boundary line.
The DHS uses
the catch-and-release program under the Homeland Security’s “parole” powers.
More than 5,000 migrants told Border Patrol agents their destinations when they
are released are New York.
