President Joe Biden said on Saturday the video and other testimonies presented during the January 6 hearing last week was “devastating,” adding the committee has made an “overwhelming” case.

Last week Thursday the committee unanimously voted to subpoena former President Donald Trump to speak at the panel after making a case that the former president mobilized his supporters to overturn his defeat in the 2020 elections.

Responding to a question about his thoughts about the hearing which had its final hearing as the Midterms approaches, Mr. Biden said during an unannounced stop at a Baskin-Robbins in Portland, Oregon: “I think the testimony, the video are absolutely devastating. And I’ve been going out of my way not to comment, see what happens, but it’s just – I think it’s been devastating,” CNN reported

The House Select Committee investigating the January 6, 2021 violent attack on Congress revealed new evidence and testimony from former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson. Hutchinson said Mr. knew he had lost the 2020 presidential election but in spite of that continued his efforts to overturn his defeat using his baseless widespread voter fraud narrative.

The January panel also showed footage of congressional leaders chaotically moving to take refuge at a safe room where they made frantic efforts to stop the ongoing violence by coordinating with other federal and local government officials to provide security. The committee also revealed new evidence of a Trump plan to declare victory irrespective of the outcome of the election results.

“I mean, the case has been made, it seems to me fairly overwhelming,” Biden said on Saturday, according to the CNN.

Responding to the subpoena in a letter released last Friday, Mr. Trump described the committee a group of “political hacks and thugs” who are involved in a politically motivated “Witch Hunt.”
