Eric Trump, son of former President Donald Trump Friday declared that there is no longer the “Republican Party” but the “Trump Party”. Eric Trump who made the declaration during a TV appearance on conservative news channel, Newsmax discussed how much his father has reshaped the GOP, Newsweek reported.
Ron
Filipkowski, a left leaning pundit and former federal prosecutor shared a clip
of Eric Trump’s TV appearance on Twitter which has now been viewed more than
100,000 times as of Saturday afternoon.
"He's
fundamentally changed the party," Eric Trump said of the former president.
"It's no longer the Republican Party, it's the Trump Party."
In August
Eric Trump made a similar statement during a previous appearance on Newsmax
while discussing the defeat of Rep. Liz Cheney, the daughter of Bush era Vice
President Dick Cheney by Trump endorsed GOP challenger, Harriet Hageman.
"There's
no question. I mean, it's not even the Republican Party," Eric Trump said
at the time. "I'd say it's actually the Trump party," according to
Newsweek.
Trump
endorsements this year have led to primary wins 92 percent of the time,
Newsweek cited Ballotpedia.
"My
father has literally brought in a whole new party from the RINO [Republican in
name only] class of the Republican Party," Eric Trump said in August,
according to Newsweek. "He literally brought in a whole new party that
stands for something totally different than the wider class of the Republican
Party ever stood for. My father's really redefined what the party is, how the
party speaks to its constituents and I think it's exactly why you have this
overwhelming support in all of the people he's endorsed."
Speaking
about politically charged and partisan January 6 hearing fronted mostly by the
Democrats which last week unanimously voted to subpoena his father, the younger
Trump dismissed the panel saying “not a single person cares” about the hearings
because the “Democratic Party” haven’t “accomplished anything in two years”.
