White House elevates Karine Jean-Pierre, others in press office promotions

White House officials Wednesday confirmed the elevation of Karine Jean-Pierre to press secretary from her position as deputy press secretary and the promotion of a number of officials in the latest shake up ahead of the November midterms, according to a report by The Hill.

White House officials Wednesday confirmed the elevation of Karine Jean-Pierre to press secretary from her position as deputy press secretary and the promotion of a number of officials in the latest shake up ahead of the November midterms, according to a report by The Hill.

Jennifer Molina was promoted to deputy communications director after serving as the director of coalitions media for the White House since President Joe Biden became president, according to The Hill.

Andrew Bates who worked a deputy press secretary since January 2021 will serve as senior communications adviser for strategic response. He previously served in Biden’s 2020 campaign.

Emilie Simons who worked in the White House in a role focusing on economic news will now serve as deputy press secretary, according to The Hill. She previously worked with Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.).

Michael Kikukawa, former press assistant at the White House will return as an assistant press secretary while Robyn Patterson will take a new role as an assistant press secretary after working at the Commerce Department.

John Kirby will resume at the White House to serve as a spokesperson focused on national security and foreign policy after serving with the Pentagon.

In late August, the White House announced Olivia Dalton as principal deputy press secretary following a role at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations.
