A teen called police in a fake bomb threat to Queens Catholic School over anger that nude photos of him were posted online.
The teen who made the call Tuesday said he was angry after nude photos of him were posted online by a girlfriend, police sources said, New York Daily News reports.
The teenager
falsely informed police that he had planted a pipe bomb in the school prompting
an evacuation of students of St. Francis Prep on Francis Lewis Blvd. in Fresh
Meadows shortly before noon. The young
boy claimed he was going to set off the bomb at 1 p.m.
The teen
said his reason for the move was because his girlfriend had posted nude
pictures of him on the internet, police sources said, according to New York
Daily News.
Responding the
NYPD’s bomb Squad and Emergency Services Unit entered the school but found no
explosives at the end of the exercise and students were allowed back in the
school shortly after 1 p.m.
“There was
no evidence to suggest that a bomb threat was credible,” said John Quaglione, a
spokesman for the Diocese of Brooklyn, which covers Brooklyn and Queens,
according to New York Daily News. “The school building was then reoccupied and
the students scheduled to take their World Language Regents exam then sat for
the exam.”
