A teenage has been arrested in a suspected murder case of drill rapper Moneygang Vontae. The incidence is said to have taken place at a Bronx pharmacy on June 8.
The Los
Angeles rapper Avanti Frowner, 27, who rapped under the stage name Moneygang
Vontae, was in New York City to scout locations for a music video when five men
cornered him at the Amazing Community Pharmacy on E. Tremont Ave. near Arthur
Ave. in Tremont, cops said, according to New York Daily News.

Jones, 18, was charged with murder in the deadly attack on the rapper.
Jones was
arrested by NYPD’s Bronx Warrants Squad on Thursday at Monroe College in New
Rochelle, New York Daily News quoted police sources to have said. Cops said
Jones lives at a school dorm.
According to
New York Daily News, Vontae and his friend from California were buying
over-the-counter eye drops at the pharmacy when two of the five suspects
approached and asked if he wanted to buy some wee, police sources said.

A struggle
ensued between the rapper and the suspects. One of the suspects pulled up a gun
and shot the drill rapper several times. Vontae dropped and the gunman fired
another shot into his chest and fled with the “Moneygang Vontae” nameplate he
wore on his neck, cops said, according to New York Daily News.
It is not clear if Jones is believed to be the shooter. He would be arraigned at the Bronx Criminal Court.
