An Oklahoma man has been accused of killing his friend on a fishing trip Saturday thinking the friend had called the legendary Bigfoot monster to eat him, Washington Examiner reports.
The suspect
Larry Sanders, 53, was taken into custody this weekend and is facing a first
degree murder charge, Washington Examiner quoted the Oklahoma State Bureau of
Investigation.
Sanders allegedly
killed Jimmy Knighten on Oklahoma’s South Canadian River during a bare-handed
fishing trip gone wrong, the report said.
Sanders
confessed to striking and strangling Knighten during a fight, authorities said.
The Oklahoma
State Bureau of investigation said the victim’s body was found Sunday,
according to Washington Examiner.
Sanders said
he killed Knighten because his friend ‘intended to feed him to
sasquatch/Bigfoot,” Washington Examiner cited an affidavit, according to the
report.
"LARRY
advised he believed JIMMY was trying to get away from him so that the sasquatch
could eat LARRY," it read. "LARRY would not let JIMMY get away. LARRY
punched JIMMY and struck JIMMY with a stick. LARRY and JIMMY fought for an
extended amount of time on the ground."
