Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced Saturday on Twitter that he had met with Pope Francis on Friday. He was accompanied by his four teenage children.
“Honored to
meet @Pontifex yesterday,” Musk tweeted, adding a photo showing Musk, Francis
and four of his teenage children. His proposed bid to buy the social media
giant is still in limbo.
There was no
announcement from the Vatican providing information on the said meeting as well
as what was discussed.
Twitter’s
board had recommended shareholders approve Musk’s proposed $44 billion purchase
on June 21 but the deal is yet to scale through. His offer is far more than
Twitter’s actual share price.
The pope who
is believed to live in a Vatican hotel uses a reception room to meet high
profile figures.
