American voters endorsed busing of illegal migrants to sanctuary cities in a new poll that shows the voters felt the states had no choice but to share the pain of the Biden administration chaos at the southern border, The Washington Times reports.
In a two to
one margin vote, those polled said Mr. Biden’s failure to secure the border was
even a bigger problem than the governors’ transportation of illegal immigrants
to different states.
More than
60% of voters said it was “hypocritical” of sanctuary cities such as
Washington, Chicago and New York to complain about migrants being bused to
them, The Washington Times cited a new polling done earlier this week by RMG
Research for the American First Policy Institute, a conservative think tank led
by former Trump administration leaders.
The memo obtained
by The Washington Times concluded that “sending illegal immigrants to sanctuary
cities is politically popular.”
The poll was
conducted one week after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis flew illegal immigrants from
Texas who was bound for Florida to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts, a
popular destination for the nation’s liberal elite, according to The Washington
Times.
Why is Texas and Arizona sending migrants by bus?
55% of
voters approved of the busing scheme adopted since April by Texas Gov. Greg
Abbott and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey after Mr. Biden suspended the Trump era ban
on migration at the southern border to halt the spread of corona virus. 63% of
all voters agreed with the statement that busing was the only way to draw
attention to the problem at the border but 25% disagreed.
President Joe Biden who has proved himself incapable of controlling the surge of migrants thanks to his open border policy described the migrant busing as “simply wrong” and “un-American, reckless”.
Over 60% of votes believe drug cartels have taken control of
the border, while 19% believe the White House is in charge, according to The
Washington Times.
While 54% of
voters say they doubted the administration was serious about securing the
border and cutting illegal immigration, about 28% think the U.S. government was
serious with its job of securing the border.
