Officials in Nantucket, Massachusetts are preparing for a potential migrant flight to the island to be supposedly undertaken by Florida Governor Ron Desantis. Public health officials said the illegal migrants are expected to land on the island on Tuesday in a stunt similar to the Martha’s Vineyard case in September, according to a report by Nantucket based newspaper the inquirer and Mirror.
Nantucket
Airport authorities said they received notice of a plane arriving to the airport
on Tuesday from the same company that transported migrants to Martha’s
Vineyard.
A report by
the Associated Press detained documents from the state of Florida regarding the
transportation of migrants from the state of Florida to Martha’s Vineyard which
indicated a bidding tussle between businesses from the Sunshine State to be
enlisted to transport the migrants. The program was aimed at assisting “in the
voluntary relocation of Unauthorized Aliens who are found in Florida and have
agreed to be relocated,” the document reads.
In September
Gov. DeSantis, a Republican sent nearly 50 migrants via a flight to Martha’s
Vineyard as part of protest against President Joe Biden’s broken immigration
policies. The move followed similar
shipments by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican whose state is at the
brunt of the daily influx of illegal immigrants into the unhinged border.
Abbott has repeatedly sent illegal migrants to New York City, Washington, D.C.,
and Chicago.
The migrants are mostly sent to Democrats run cities in a bid to draw attention to surge in illegal activities at the southern border.
