Former President Donald Trump is reportedly leading President Joe Biden by 1 point in a New York Times poll among potential voters. Mr. Trump leads Biden, 45 to 44 percent, when registered voters were asked who they would support if the 2024 presidential election were held today, The Hill cited a New York Times College poll published Monday.

Biden also leads Trump in a number of other polls including a Yahoo News-YouGov poll last month that had Biden leading Trump by 6 point, according to The Hill.

Trump has refused to acknowledge defeat in the 2020 elections after almost two years, dismissing the elections as characterized by widespread voter fraud.

Although Mr. Biden is yet to announce officially he would be seeking re-election, he has nonetheless said he would be seeking a second term.

The New York Times Siena College poll shows abysmally low approval ratings for Biden and was conduction among 792 registered voters between October 9 and October 12.

Only 39 percent of potential voters approve of how Biden is handling his job even as the president continues to battle with his disastrous open border policy and soaring inflation now at a 40-year high.

43 percent of likely voters have a favorable opinion of Trump but 52 percent have an unfavorable opinion.
