Does it pay to be an illegal immigrant? Yes, it does! President Joe Biden has been providing five-star treatment for illegal migrants as part of his open border policy by providing them with room service, laundry, babysitters, their choice of mattresses and security guards in hotels paid for by American taxpayers.
All these is
happening at a time Americans are experiencing record inflation, potential
recession following interest rates hikes in a bid to stem rising inflation by the
Feds, rising unemployment but all these does not disturb the Democratic
president. With hundreds of thousands of homeless residents across the United
States including in Washington, some of whom are veterans, no such treatment is
anticipated for them.
The
initiative is carried out by the nation’s Department of Homeland Security that
has a responsibility to provide intelligence and security against threats to the
country, but it appears they have a new role under the Biden administration –
provide incentives to would be illegal migrants by incentivizing the chaotic surge
at the U.S.-Mexican border.
Homeland
Security signed contracts to provide the luxury treatment to the aliens,
according to documents obtained by America First Legal, a conservative outfit
run by former top Trump aides through open-records request, The Washington
Times reported.
The illegal
immigrants were provided with many choices including 24-hour access to drinks
and snacks, babysitters to watch their children, choice of mattresses for their
beds, option of meat at every meal as well as television with programming
available in English and Spanish, according to The Washington Times. They also enjoyed choice flights to other
parts of the country of their choice.
The Biden
administration started providing the hotel accommodation in 2021 when it appeared
Homeland became overwhelmed by the number of illegal migrants pouring into the lack
of control border.
A number of
companies won contracts relating to providing services for the migrants
including Family Endeavors Inc. which won no-bid contracts worth hundreds of
millions of dollars from ICE and Health and Human Services even though it
lacked the experience required for such large-scale contract, according to The
Washington Times.
“We thought
that it was important to make this information public so that the average
citizen can see what the government is up to,” said Reed D. Rubinstein, senior
counselor and director of investigations at American First Legal. “That’s where
this contract is really helpful because it gives you a. window — a small
window, but a window nonetheless — into how the Biden administration is conducting
itself.”
The illegal
immigrants were kept in hotels in El Paso, Pecos and Cotulla, Texas, and
Chandler as well as Phoenix, Arizona.
According to
the revelations, Family Endeavors promised ICE in contractual terms never to
refer to the illegal immigrants it was detaining as “detainees” or “aliens.” But
legally that is what they are, terms that repeatedly appear in the contract.
The group
said the illegal immigrants appear to get more consideration than Americans,
including veterans, while noting that Texas and Arizona where the hotels were
used have nearly 40,000 homeless residents, a number that include 3,000
veterans.
Some of the hotels
reported in the documents were two Best Westerns, one Comfort Suites, one Wood
Springs Suites, one Holiday Inn Express, one MicroHotel and one Hampton Inn.
The contract
also says no unauthorized persons were allowed to enter the hotel where the
illegal immigrants were lodged.
“Service provider shall provide security to ensure resident safety; but said security primary function[sic] is to ensure no unauthorized individuals enter the residential facility,” the contract said.
The contract
also demanded that migrants be provided with at least a 4-inch-thick mattress,
but the aliens must be given a choice to have it doubled with at least two
3-inch pads it the former is not of their liking.
The migrants
must also enjoy meat-based courses as part of all three daily meals, with
Kosher, Halal and vegetarian meals, delivered at room service.
ICE ended the
hotel program earlier this year.
