Former President Donald Trump endorsed Georgia Republican Senate nominee Herschel Walker tore through President Joe Biden Sunday describing him as the “biggest threat to democracy.”
Herschel
appears to have borrowed a phrase from Biden’s prime-time speech where the
president warned about the future of democracy as the GOP prepares to take over
the House in a scathing rebuke.
With the nation’s
midterm slatted for Tuesday, Biden tried to sway voters warning that the nation’s
democracy is “under threat” and that it’s “on the ballot this year” as his job
approval sank to a new low among independents in a new poll conducted by the NBC.
“When you
have a president talking about the biggest threat to democracy, it [seems to
be] electing a Republican. But I want everyone that is listening to me, the
biggest threat to democracy is to have him at the White House,” Mr. Walker told
Fox News host Maria Bartiromo, according to The Washington Times.
“The biggest
threat to democracy is have the people that — the Democrats right now leading
this country, because they seem to be taking this country in the wrong
direction. And I think America sees that and they know that.”
Herschel is
seeking to defeat Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock in a bid to flip control of the
senate in favor of the Republicans.
Two women
have accused the GOP candidate of helping pay for their abortions which runs at
odds with his pro-life stance. Herschel denies the allegations.
Herschel
also enjoys endorsements from top Republicans including Senate Minority Leader
Mitch McConnell.
