Nine persons were Saturday night hit in a multiple shooting rampage that left four people critically injured and five others in stable condition outside a Philadelphia bar.
Authorities
say the hall of bullets rocked the street after gunmen exited a vehicle and
shot at a crowd at Kensington and Allegheny avenues around 10:45 p.m. Saturday,
according to The Associated Press.
Police say
the victims were hospitalized including two in “extremely critical” condition
in an area believed to be a hotbed for gun crimes, according to Deputy
Commissioner John Stanford who told the media in a briefing after the deadly
attacks, The Washington Examiner reported.
All victims
were adults but the motive for the crime has not yet been determined.
The victims
include a 23-year-old man, a 27-year-old man and two 24-year-old men in
critical condition, according to The Associated Press. Others are two
24-year-old men and two 40-year-old men and a 23-year-old woman in stable
condition.
“At this
point in time, it just looks like these individuals may have spotted someone
they wanted to shoot at, exited the vehicle and began firing at the group of
individuals that were there. We don’t have much more than that in terms of
motive,” Stanford said at a press briefing, according to The Associated Press.
Stanford
said the criminals would be brought to justice.
"We
have some brazen people in this city that don't care. They don't care how many
police officers are out here. And some of them don't care how many people are
out here. We continue to do what we need to do to get these individuals in
custody," he added, according to the Washington Examiner.
