GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is speculating that the impeachment of President Joe Biden will “be very easy with proof,” unlike previous attempt by the Democrats led by Nancy Pelosi to impeach former President Donald Trump without evidence.
In a post on
Twitter Monday, Taylor Greene said:
"Throwback
to January 12, 2021. I will never forget voting NO against Nancy Pelosi's
political assassination attempt by impeaching President Trump with ZERO
evidence," adding “we will impeach Biden with proof. It will be easy.”
The Republican
member of Congress also shared a video of her remarks on the House floor before
the second impeachment of former President Donald Trump. The impeachment was in
relation to the deadly siege at the U.S. Capitol by a group of Trump supporters
on January 6, 2021.
Greene has
been at the center of calls for the impeachment of Biden for his economic
failures, his chaotic withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, possible suppression
of investigation of his son Hunter Biden’s overseas business dealings and his
lack of capacity to provide leadership on the chaos at the U.S.-Mexican border.
Speaking at
a campaign on Monday night before the midterm elections on Tuesday, Greene
hinted on the impeachment of two top Biden officials before the president’s
impeachment.
"We can
impeach [Homeland Security] Secretary [Alejandro] Mayorkas, we can impeach
[Attorney General] Merrick Garland and we can and we will impeach Joe
Biden," she said, Newsweek reported.
She was speaking
at a Trump rally in Vandalia, Ohio drawing cheers from the crowd.
