Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Tuesday won reelection in the House after defeating her Democratic challenger Marcus Flowers. Ms. Greene, a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump defeated the Army veteran in the midterm elections to represent Georgia’s 14th Congressional District. She is serving her second term in Congress.
Greene was
projected to win the elections by The Associated Press.
She was
stripped of her committee role after revelations of her many conspiracies
including those relating to QAnon and violence against the Democrats. She
kicked against the Biden administration COVID-19 vaccine mandate and restrictions.
She also promoted Trump’s unfounded claims that the 2020 elections was marred
by wide spread voter fraud.
A day before
the midterms, Greene said the impeachment of President Joe Biden will “be very
easy with proof,” unlike previous attempt by the Democrats led by Nancy Pelosi
to impeach former President Donald Trump without evidence.
In a post on
Twitter Monday, Taylor Greene said:
"Throwback
to January 12, 2021. I will never forget voting NO against Nancy Pelosi's
political assassination attempt by impeaching President Trump with ZERO
evidence," adding “we will impeach Biden with proof. It will be easy.”
Greene has
been at the center of calls for the impeachment of Biden for his economic
failures, his chaotic withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, possible
suppression of investigation of his son Hunter Biden’s overseas business
dealings and his lack of capacity to provide leadership on the chaos at the
U.S.-Mexican border.
Speaking at
a campaign on Monday night before the midterm elections on Tuesday, Greene
hinted on the impeachment of two top Biden officials before the president’s
impeachment.
These
officials are Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas who is presiding
over the immigration crisis at the U.S.-Mexican border and Attorney General
Merrick Garland who approved the raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
On Tuesday Greene
thanked voters for the support she has received so far.
“Thank you
Georgia’s 14th district for putting your faith in me to be your voice and your
representative in Washington,” Greene said in a post on Twitter.
“It’s my
privilege and my honor.
“Thank you
to all who support me. I am 100%
dedicated to fight for America and the American people. I’m looking forward to it.”
